The Position
Roche Diagnostics Operations, Inc. seeks a Data Scientist in its Indianapolis, IN location.
Duties : Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse "big data" sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement. Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Undertakes research on scientific approach and utilizes state-of-art methodologies to analyze complex datasets and interpret analysis of results. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources (data architecture, engineering and provision of corresponding data products for data insights). Identifies, interprets and communicates meaningful insights and findings to product, service, and business managers. Contributes to build and cultivate a data-driven decision-making culture. Analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Conduct analysis, design, evaluation, modification, testing, and implementation of enterprise-class applications. Provide technical expertise to identify, evaluate and develop IT systems and procedures. Configure application settings and options for off-the-shelf applications. Plan and execute integration acceptance testing. Develop conversion and system implementation plans. Lead cross-functional teams to develop detailed requirements and identify solution options. Maintain and expand knowledge and access to available and meaningful data sources within / outside Roche, and their application to customer needs. Operationalize data stewardship, data quality and data product provisioning within the domain. Build and maintain strong partnerships with your customers and key functional experts in order to jointly explore vendor relationships, data assets, analytical methodologies and toolsets. Define, promote and provide support for common data platforms and visualization tools building the groundwork for a high-performing digital analytics team. Share best practices, new techniques and lessons learned with other team members and the businesses you support to drive a culture and mindset shift towards utilization of data analytics and science (data literacy). May telecommute up to 3 days per week.
Education and experience required : Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field, and 5 years of experience in the job offered, or related position
Special Requirements : Must have 5 years of experience with :
- Domain knowledge about the regulated environment of Post-Market Quality in Medical Devices;
- Snowflake / Talend for daily maintenance of Post Market Quality source data;
- Creating complex tableau reports to address business questions in Post-Market quality;
- Writing scripts with Python / SQL programming for data engineering and report generation
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of Indianapolis, IN is $137,616 to $222,300 per year. Actual pay within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
