*LOCAL HIRE POSITION*
Position Overview:
As a Tower Technician you will be working in a crew assisting with construction projects, that will include: new site builds, tower mods, and line and antenna adds/upgrades. Daily activities may include site prep, on-site installation, repair, and modifications. You will gain knowledge in effectively utilizing tools, equipment, to stack towers, install structural components, antennas, radios, grounding, and RF components. This will be accomplished following ANSI, and F I Wireless’ standards. Position is supervised by a Foreman.
Essential Job Functions
- Must be able to work at heights 350’
- Become efficient with weather proofing
- Become efficient with grounding
- Ability to color code and distinguish and identify colors/color schemes
- Participate in and assist in installation, repair, modification, optimization, of wireless equipment
- Gain knowledge in installation of wireless infrastructure including, but not limited to: antennas, feed lines, fiber, shelters, self-support towers, guy towers, and monopoles
- Ability to take direction and learn from experience; gaining knowledge of cell sites to include RF, fiber, and power.
- Assist in completing assigned tasks within project scope accurately and efficiently
- Strict attention to detail and organization; enabling timely task completion focusing on the quality of workmanship
- Assist in pick up/delivery of equipment, components, job site material, etc.
- Maintain clean, orderly environment
- Attend vendor and in-house training and participate in certification programs when required
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Perform additional tasks when necessary
Requirements
- Ability to take direction and learn from others
- Gain knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools
- Ability to acquire and maintain OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, Competent Climbing/Rescue, RF awareness certifications
- Ability to travel at times
- At times, be available for weekends
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Possess and maintain a smart phone
- Exposure to heights preferred, but not required
- High School or GED Equivalent Required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to be active and mentally prepared
- Ability to meet physical demands of duties
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to bend, lift, twist, squat, kneel, sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to work outside and withstand varied inclement weather conditions
- Ability to come to work dressed in proper work clothing per daily weather conditions
- Ability to reach, climb, and/or grasp ladders or other tall structures
