What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crate Builder position at F L Crane & Sons Inc?
F. L. Crane & Sons, Inc. an employee-owned specialty contractor with over 75 years of experience covering a wide range of finishing, metal panel systems and custom crating. We are based out of Fulton MS and operate 14 divisions throughout the southeastern part of the US. - Construct wooden crates using wood, nails, and nail guns & staple guns
- Make sure returnable skids are in good condition (Repair when needed)
- Maintain a steady workflow by following procedures accurately and timely
- Perform duties with minimal supervision
- Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition
- Perform assigned duties with quality in mind
- Follow all company instructions, safety policies, and rules
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
- Operate a forklift (as needed)
Education and/or Work Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
- Prior Manufacturing experience (preferred)
- Prior Woodworking experience (preferred)
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Ability to follow verbal instructions
- Ability to read color labels and identify products
- Ability to read tape measure
- Ability to use saw, nail guns, and other hand tools
- Basic math skills
- Forklift training
- Ability to count
