Responsibilities:
- Download bid invites, plans, specs, and create/organize folders. Review and analyze scope of work and project requirements for each job to ensure all requirements can be accommodated.
- Prepare bids by producing estimates for jobs in the planning and pre-construction stages. Analyze plans, specifications, scopes, bid documentation, and attend onsite walk-throughs for accurate bid preparation and submission.
- Performs and oversees detailed quantity take-offs.
- Solicits pricing for materials, equipment, and subcontractors as needed.
- Attend all pre-construction meetings, post bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings.
- Review contracts
- Develops Project Schedules
- Ability to produce submittal packages
- Responsible for filing / submitting of SWPPPs, Dig Safe Requests, and Permits.
- Oversees the delivery of materials to jobsites.
- Works with the foreman to plan, organize, and direct construction activities.
- Coordinate the scheduling of the suppliers and subcontractors with the Project Superintendents to ensure that construction occurs according to schedule and within budget.
- Maintain good communication with Owners, General Contractors, City, Town & State Officials, Engineers, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Vendors, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related fields or 3 years field experience. Willing to train the right candidate who may not meet all of the qualifications.
- Experience with estimating heavy civil projects such as excavation and utility projects, roads and bridges, and box culverts a plus.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, structural and civil plans
- Be proficient with AutoCAD, GPS-Trimble, Trimble Business Center, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project), Bluebeam, Adobe and other software used in the construction industry.
- Must have good record keeping skills, problem solving abilities, and communication skills; also, the ability to meet required deadlines and a keen attention to detail.
- Standard Driver’s License is required with reliable transportation.
Summary
In the role of Estimator/Project Manager, you will be overseeing construction projects from inception to completion.
