About the Role:
As a Recreational Therapist at F.L.O.W. Recreation, you'll collaborate with a dynamic internal support team to design and implement tailored interventions for clients benefiting from Indiana’s Medicaid waiver. Your expertise will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, and evaluating leisure-based treatment programs, addressing the physical, social, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive needs of individuals with disabilities.
You will have the opportunity to use a variety of evidence-based modalities, including sports, fitness, arts and crafts, dance, music, and drama, all while promoting the agency's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Coordination: Develop and implement programs aligned with 460 IAC State guidelines and DDRS policies. Communicate the purpose and goals of recreational therapy effectively to clients and families.
- Facilitation: Lead individual and group sessions, adapting interventions to meet the unique needs of each consumer while fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Data Management: Ensure timely and accurate reporting and documentation, maintaining compliance with governmental and ethical standards.
- Community Engagement: Maintain open communication with families, consumers, and other stakeholders to promote a supportive network around each client.
- Continuous Improvement: Accrue continuing education to maintain your CTRS credential and stay updated with industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
- Currently hold a CTRS credential through the NCTRC.
- Preferred: 1 years of experience working with persons with ID/DD.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to work flexible hours.
- Current driver’s license and dependable transportation.
