POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist investment advisors in pursuit of sales goals and provide operational support by performing a variety of duties to support the department and individual financial advisor's mission.
OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE:
- Place clients’ needs first to nurture lasting relationships in accordance with the Farmers and Merchants’ State Bank mission statement.
- Deepen client relationships by utilizing sales training skills to provide outstanding customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide clerical support to sales efforts by performing functions such as, but not limited to, scheduling appointments; helping clients with basic questions with their accounts; maintaining and updating client files; and processing paperwork to open new accounts.
- Update and maintain self-directed IRA's and collect annual custodial fees. Collect annual maintenance fees on retail accounts.
- Help FM Investment Manager compile various reports for management.
- Perform research on account histories, client account statements, and tax reports including cost basis information.
- Project management, including prospect mailings, marketing campaigns, seminars and referral incentive campaigns.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and literature regarding FM Investment Services, Raymond James and various fund and insurance companies. Also maintain current supply of business cards and letterhead for individual advisors.
- Answer, screen and direct incoming telephone calls.
- Complete continuing education to maintain licenses where applicable.
- Complete and satisfactorily pass tests for bank policy and regulations that apply to position.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point. Ability to utilize software tools provided by broker-dealer. Ability to use internet and websites to provide investment analysis.

Valid Driver's License

COMPLIANCE:
- As generally applicable to F&M Bank and commensurate with these job functions, this job role includes accountabilities for following Bank policies and related procedures, as well as regulatory requirements involving federal and state laws, regulations, and related guidance.
- Compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), including accurate completion of Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) when applicable, Anti-Money Laundering Act (AML), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and the USA PATRIOT Act. Adhere to Customer Identification, Customer Due Diligence and reporting of suspicious activities to the BSA Department.
