What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Branch Manager position at F & M Bank?
This position is responsible for assisting the Branch Manager in the day to day operations and supervision of the branch keeping within the framework of Farmers & Merchants goals, policies and procedures. Assume full charge of the office during the absence of the Branch Manager. Foster a positive work environment and ensure an overall excellent customer experience in the branch.
Essential Duties:
- Demonstrates product and sales knowledge of all products and services of the bank related to daily job functioning.
- Assist management in the day-to-day operations of the branch being knowledgeable in all areas to operate the branch in the absence of the manager.
- Implements and helps to develop branch business plan to achieve specified loan generation, deposit growth, product sales, cross-selling, relationship development, and retention goals.
- Makes and services a variety of business and consumer loans both secured and unsecured to include real estate, small business, line of credit, home equity, and credit cards.
- Develops and grows business and consumer relationships.
- Achieves individual sales and referral goals.
- Oversee training and communications for all security procedures for the Branch.
- This may involve opening accounts and working a teller window when needed.
- Resolve customer problems and assist customers and staff in answering operational questions.
- Maintains regular, reliable attendance
Non-Essential Duties:
- Participates in Bank-sponsored and other community/civic events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assist management in the cross-training of staff and staff sales development activities. Confer and participate with the branch manager in resolving routine personnel issues.

Education and/or Experience (Required and Preferred)
Preferred:
- A minimum of two years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Current driver’s license to travel to other bank branch locations and other bank-related travel.

Position Type/Hours:
This is a non-exempt position working Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. and rotational Saturdays with overtime as necessary.

Occasional travel primarily within the Bank’s market areas during the business day with occasional out-of-area and overnight travel.
