ABOUT THE ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST ROLE

F&M Trust is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team in preparation for an upcoming retirement. The individual will work closely with other members of the Finance team and other internal stakeholders on a variety of ongoing responsibilities. The new team member will have their office located at Corporate Headquarters in Chambersburg, PA; a hybrid schedule will be available after successful demonstration of key accountabilities.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing or assisting with duties that support the accounting and finance function including, but not limited to, wire transfers, accounts payable, cash position, general ledger, and other administrative support functions with growing level of complexity and responsibility as demonstrated by performance. Having a high level of data accuracy is integral to the success of this individual and the Finance department overall.

FUTURE ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
Due to expected bank growth, this individual will have opportunities for advancement within the Finance Department. There is a level II and III with more extensive work responsibilities for a less seasoned individual to grow into, or for a more seasoned individual to more closely align with, which would be accompanied by a competitive salary commensurate with functional experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required, with a preference for coursework or experience in accounting, finance, or banking.
- Possesses a keen eye for accuracy and consistency in financial data.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to learn and successfully work in a variety of other computer technologies.
- Ability to work independently
- Inquisitive and analytical thinker; ability to explore things deeper than the transactional level, uncover trends, etc.
- Desire and willingness to learn new things and take on new responsibilities
