What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Test Group Technician position at F&P America Manufacturing?
Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily destructive testing of products as prescribed.
- Collect and prepare test samples for macro testing as prescribed.
- Analyze, judge & report on concern welds found during destructive testing using computer based software’s and Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook).
- Prepare and distribute detailed test reports to interested parties.
- Organize and file test reports for proper record retention.
- Provide assistance as needed to macro lab personnel.
Qualifications:
- Excellent work and attendance history.
- Position requires high levels of precision work where attention to detail is critical.
- Familiarity of steel joining technologies (GMAW, resistance welding, etc.)
- Ability to safely use testing equipment to include, plasma cutters, band saws, hand tools and hydraulic spreaders (jaws of life) unaided.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow all safety requirements of the company – (including PPE -hat, glasses, steel-toed boots, uniform, hearing protection, gloves, etc.) safe job behaviors, etc.
- Ability to safely transport required corrosive chemicals between workstations.
- Able to lift up to 80 lbs. aided (two man lift, lift device or cart)
- Able to manipulate parts up to 80 lbs. unaided once at workstation.
- Ability to stand for up to 2 hours between break periods during test sample preparation phases.
Work Environment:
- Plant & test lab environment.
- Regularly exposed to dust, odors, noise, smoke, etc.
