Join Our Team as an Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Accounts Receivable Specialist ensures customer payments are made within defined terms, research and disputes payment discrepancies, processes credits, and fosters excellent working relationships with our customers.

Excelling in this role depends on demonstrating a high level of integrity and dedication with a keen eye for detail.   Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills are required to collaborate effectively with internal colleagues and external customers.  A positive can-do attitude, combined with superior accounting, time management and organizational skills round out the keys to success.

Principle Responsibilities

• Maintain minimal aged open balances on all assigned customer accounts
• Ensure customers receive their invoices within 24 hours of shipment
• Regularly check emails and customer portals to maintain up to date records of all unpaid invoices
• Develop and foster excellent working relationships with our customers and coworkers
• Actively investigate and resolve irregularities in incoming payments
• Contact customers as needed to ensure payment of outstanding invoices
• Work collaboratively with accounting team members
• Generate and deliver reports to various departments as needed

Requirements

• Education in accounting, finance, business administration 
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy accounting department 
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records 
• Must have strong computer skills including Excel and possess substantial ERP system experience. 
• ProducePro, and/or Just Food experience a plus
• Expert-level experience using productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• A desire and ability to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a forward-thinking mindset
• Seeks continual improvement
