About this Position The ISP Trade Review Principal 3 specializes in the suitability review of Annuity products which includes plans, variable annuities, fixed, fixed index, and index linked annuities from multiple Carriers, and is proficient with the job functions of a Trade Review Principal. Carries out Step by step review for suitability for the proposed client and product type. Coordinates with other departments, such as pre-approval Team and our legal department to ensure that necessary pre-approvals have been received where applicable. Uses multiple systems and programs for research and processing trades. Makes occasional calls to our Field Force to resolve issues with trades being reviewed, including all large trades. In additional to the above, Trade Review Principal III should be able to perform all the Duties of Trade principal I & II, which includes reviewing Lifetime trades, Mutual funds, outside funds and 529 plans. Must be highly motivated, able to work independently, analyze and make decisions. This position requires having Series 6, 26, & 51 of FINRA certifications. Responsibilities & Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience FINRA series 6, 26 & 51 required Knowledge of company policies and procedures Familiarity with database, mainframe, and Firelight, SurPas, Web image, Impress systems, and Microsites for Lincoln, Bright House, AIG, AXA Knowledge of overall system software Understanding of company workflow and overall system processing Fundamental understanding of industry regulations Fundamental understanding of Sales Force Ability to identify problems and formulate solutions to problems Ability to recognize legal and regulatory issues affecting the liability of the Company Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines. Ability and willingness to learn new skills related to the successful achievement of departmental goals including but not limited to software applications necessary for the successful continuation of surveillance functions. Must have a positive and proactive outlook Ability to self-motivate and work in a team environment. Ability to work overtime as needed to meet departmental goal. Excellent interpersonal skills Math aptitude and basic accounting skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work with technical support staff, clerical staff, and management of other departments Ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent understanding of operational functions Knowledge of Primerica Online, Microsoft Office, Internet mail Essential Functions Review and approve Annuity trades. Reviews applications for missing or wrong information. Reviews CIP form for required information. Reviews client’s profile information. Reviews answers to suitability questions and total score. Rejects trades that do not meet minimum suitability score. Reviews existing annuities client may have. Reviews liquidity, Net worth, liquid Net worth and maximum amount client may invest in annuity based on Liquid Net Worth. Reviews source of funds and disclosures on BD applications. Reviews fees disclosed for existing and new products. Reviews investment profile questionnaire, client’s investment objective and fund allocations to ensure suitability criteria is met. Reviews for inconsistencies on BD and Fund Company applications. Reviews client’s acknowledgement and signatures. Reviews Rep’s Licensing where required. Manually approves all trades per procedures in accordance to FINRA and SEC regulatory rules and company policies, if in good order. Routes trades to QOB for a call out if there are NIGO issues. Automatically rejects unsuitable trades. Runs, reviews and appends Accurint Reports on large trades, per department procedures and in accordance with AML policies. May request for additional forms of identification if information on e-fax is not consistent. Updates all appropriate systems, image, Firelight and HOHP. Uploads any correction or supporting details in Firelight before releasing trade. E-mails the correction to Carrier for paper applications. Sends New Business e-mail to mail out original paper application, after trade has been approved. Makes Large trade calls to representatives for trades $750K and above for additional information. Documents the call and emails to Compliance Department. Confers with Management on questionable trades. Obtains additional approval on large trades per department procedures, by routing for level II approval. Maintains and stores records for future reference in accordance with PFS record retention policies. Reviews STAR forms for subsequent purchases. Performs daily detailed reconciliation of trades to ensure all trades are scanned, data entered, reviewed, and approved for suitability. Reviews, interpret and approves all trades that are not in good order and do not meet the proper suitability requirements. Routes trades to Quality of Business department with specific instructions regarding what information or documents are required to put trades in good order. Communicates as needed with representatives for not in good order trades to obtain required information or documents. Retrieves supporting documents for deficiencies Interprets documentation received from Representatives supporting trades requiring further clarification to make the trade suitable. Updates all appropriate systems with the supporting details of the status of each trade reviewed including the suitable review sign off If applicable, provides instructions to return trades based on review results Submits and ensures proper corrective action is taken for processing errors identified during the review of a trade. Confers with Management on questionable trades. Reviews all held and routed items constantly to ensure cash trades are not kept beyond 5 days. Monitors all Queues to make sure the Department remains in standard. Reviews all held and routed items constantly to ensure cash trades are not kept beyond 5 days. Monitors Trades the failed Suitability Fails Funds in HOHP that did not pass investment objective in order to open ARTS case. Annotates image and routes for client’s letter to be ordered. Reviews ARTS letters and sends correspondence to the client, copying the representatives concerning HATS cases. Performs Test plans Keys trades in Annuity Pro according to Test plan, to ensure functionality in Firelight, especially after product promotion. Reviews and approves trade in the Web Image Test environment to confirm that information was correctly reflected on the BD and Carrier applications. Reports any inconsistencies to management. Investigates and interprets trades requested by FINRA and /or SEC auditors Stays current and improves knowledge regarding regulatory changes and areas of regulatory sensitivity. Prepares information and documentation for regulators during examinations and audits including a signed detailed response explaining the trade review performed on each audit sample. Performs instruction to regulators on the suitability systems, suitability rules, workflows, reports, and ARTS cases. Protects the company’s authority to do business by complying with the legal and ethical standards, policies, and procedures. Provides training Maintains an enhanced knowledge of products, benefits, and policies. Maintains current knowledge regarding changes in products including regulatory changes and areas of sensitivity of the regulators. Provides guidance to other employees within suitability and to other areas of the company with questions or issues regarding suitability. Assists the Office of the general Counsel in obtaining documents supporting the suitability review results for trades involved in litigation. Coordinates with other departments and affiliates such as Legal and Compliance Interfaces with internal department on compliance related projects, resolutions to exceptions, programming issues and research necessary to resolve any identified issues. Interfaces with affiliates and company contractors (Bright House, BNY Mellon, etc.) on resolutions, programming issues, and research necessary to resolve identified issues. Interfaces with internal departments and company contractors on new product roll outs including coordinating system functionality required to support new products, testing systems, updating procedures, and field notification. Represents department at various internal and /or industry meetings, conferences, and seminars. If needed, assists and performs on site Business-Assessment audits as required to ensure all trade are processed in accordance with all required regulations, all PFSI compliance requirements, and PFSI standards per the contract. Compliance with department Business-Assessment procedures. Adherence to Business-Assessment testing schedule. Reporting identified issues to management. Marginal Functions Performs miscellaneous duties as required by management.
