Department Title: Undergrad Intern – Human Resources Shared Services
Location: This position will be based in the San Mateo, CA office and will be on a hybrid basis, with 3 days a week in the office.
Position Summary
Department Overview:
In this internship opportunity with Human Resources Shared Services (Americas), the intern will provide support to many areas across the Human Resources department. The team is highly interactive, supportive and is always looking for process improvements. The culture of the team is highly collaborative, and each member is always looking to increase their knowledge and skill set.
This is a tremendous opportunity for someone who wants to work with and learn from a team that supports every aspect of HR. Interns will gain exposure to working with multiple areas of the business, and learn the different functions (Centers of Excellence – COEs) within HR, as the team supports its internal clients at Franklin Templeton.
Key Responsibilities may Include:
- HR Administrative Work
- Interview Scheduling
- Ad hoc Projects
- Employee Onboarding (i.e., HireRight, etc.)
- Responding to askHR questions
- Verification of employment
Ideal Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Background in customer service
- Willing to learn and contribute ideas to the team
By the end of your internship, interns can expect to learn:
- The structure of HR
- The different functions of each COE
- The role of HR and its contributions to the overall organization
- Systems including Workday, Service Now and Microsoft Teams
- Process creations and improvements.

Compensation Range: This is a full-time internship where students will work approximately 37.5 hours per week and earn competitive hourly pay of $31 USD per hour. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation.
