Job Summary :

We are seeking a Field Support Services Technician to provide on-site IT support for retail stores, ensuring the smooth operation of POS systems, payment processing devices, networking equipment, and security systems. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various retail and office technologies while adhering to service level agreements (SLAs). The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver with strong technical expertise and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities :

Retail IT Equipment Support :

  • Troubleshoot and repair Point of Sale (POS) systems, receipt printers, scanners, cash drawers, and PIN pads.
  • Support payment processing devices (credit card terminals, mobile payment systems, etc.).
  • Maintain and configure networking equipment (routers, switches, WiFi access points, modems).
  • Assist with security systems (CCTV cameras, alarm systems, anti-theft tags, etc.).
  • Provide support for back-office IT equipment such as PCs, printers, and backup systems.

On-Site Field Support & Maintenance :

  • Perform break-fix maintenance, troubleshooting, and device replacements across retail sites.
  • Complete device updates, software reloading, and configuration changes as needed.
  • Ensure proper documentation and ticket closure within IT service management tools (ServiceNow, Glovia, etc.).
  • Provide on-site support for store openings, special events, and scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to cabling standards and perform inside wiring work as required.
  • Logistics & Compliance :

  • Follow proper protocols for entering customer sites, including credential verification.
  • Ship faulty devices to the warehouse using provided shipping labels.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area after completing repairs.
  • Travel to various customer stores / locations to meet service requests and ticket requirements.
  • Qualifications & Experience :

  • BS / BA in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of field support experience in retail store IT operations.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience in PC hardware / software troubleshooting and support.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and assist teams with retail IT devices and applications.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to various retail locations.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Preferred Certifications & Tools :

  • Required : CompTIA A
  • Preferred : CCNA, Microsoft certifications (MCP, MCSE, MCTS)
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Glovia, MS Office 365, and retail IT applications.
  • Familiarity with Windows OS, tablets, smartphones, and POS systems.
