Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Field Services Team Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of IT field deployments, hardware support, and technician coordination. The ideal candidate will have started their career as a field or hardware technician and progressed into a leadership role, bringing both deep technical expertise and strong organizational skills to manage teams, schedules, and project execution.

This is an onsite, hardware-focused role — not remote — and will require leadership of teams across deployment and support activities, logistics coordination, and direct client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead and mentor a team of 6–12 field technicians, ensuring quality, timeliness, and professionalism
  • Oversee technician scheduling, task assignments, and resource allocation
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for technical field issues and provide hands-on support when needed
  • Conduct onboarding, training, and performance monitoring of field team members

Project Execution & Field Operations

  • Coordinate and execute IT field services projects, including hardware rollouts, installations, and site readiness
  • Collaborate with internal teams, logistics, and vendors to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Monitor project timelines and milestone completion; provide regular updates to leadership
  • Travel to client sites as required to support deployments or team oversight

Stakeholder & Risk Management

  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and, when needed, high-level executives
  • Identify and mitigate risks that may affect project timelines or deliverables
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and client requirements

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience as a field or hardware technician, with demonstrated growth into a lead or supervisor role
  • Strong understanding of hardware deployment, troubleshooting, and onsite IT support
  • 2 years of team lead or project coordination experience, ideally in field operations or IT services
  • Experience managing technician schedules, field documentation, and inventory/logistics coordination
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to escalate and resolve issues effectively
  • Comfortable interacting with internal stakeholders, vendors, and executive-level contacts

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience working with ticketing or project tracking tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira)
  • Technical certifications (CompTIA A , Network , etc.)
  • Familiarity with reporting and performance metrics
  • Prior experience in highly regulated or enterprise environments
