Senior Electrical Engineer - Clearwater, DL

Character of the Job
- Reports to the Vice President of Engineering.
- Works closely with lead Project Engineers and Senior Electrical Engineers.
- Responsible for translating design requirements into analog and digital board designs—including component selection, simulation, schematic capture, layout, documentation, and developing/supporting test procedures for avionics products.
Scope of Responsibilities
- PCB Design & Validation: Design and validate Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layouts to meet customer specifications.
- Signal Integrity & EMI Analysis: Use signal integrity analysis for proper system integration and perform system-level Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) analysis and testing.
- Aerospace Applications: Design and implement both custom designs and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components for aerospace applications.
- Collaboration: Interface with customers, project managers, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Testing Documentation: Prepare and review software & hardware test cases, procedures, and test results in accordance with requirements.
- Travel Requirement: Occasional travel to customer sites and testing facilities may be required.

Our company has grown to be a leader in aviation air data systems—covering integrated cockpit displays, digital and mechanical standby displays, sensors, and probes. We serve major manufacturers in the civil, business, and military aircraft sectors. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to expand our development team and support electrical system development through the full lifecycle of systems design, working closely with systems and software engineering functions.
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Job Competencies
Technical
- Experience designing PCB circuits (analog, mixed signal, power supplies, and digital) using OrCAD.
- Proficiency in simulation using LTspice or equivalent tools.
- Expertise in design and implementation for aerospace applications, including familiarity with various data and power bus architectures and micro-processor implementations.
- Experience reviewing PCB layouts using tools like PADS or Allegro; PCB layout experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, multimeters) for board verification tests.
- Experience in a production environment and implementing Design for Manufacture (DFM), along with the ability to collaborate with in-house manufacturing for test support and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with a structured development process to meet DO-178C / DO-254 guidelines.
- Experience with modern development tools, configuration management, problem reporting, and action item tracking.
- Additional software design skills (VHDL, FPGA, or micro-processor coding) are a plus.

Salary : $94,300 - $122,800
