Fab-Tec is a metal fabrication company with over 25 years of experience, and we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous quality experience in a machining and fabrication environment, be organized, detail-oriented and driven. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
- Document and report any quality issues or non-conformances to the appropriate department.
- Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, confirming re-work.
- Fill out job travelers, time sheets, inspection documents and any other paperwork associated with the part.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, inputting data into quality database.
- Check parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications using proper gauges.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests and quality metrics.
Requirements:
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality control in a machining and fabrication environment required.
- Previous experience with quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001.
- Must own tools for daily tasks (i.e. micrometers, calipers, edge finders, etc.) preferred
- Read and interpret blueprints and work order instructions.
- Forklift certified.
- Working knowledge of computers.
- Basic math skills.
- Must be able to take verbal and written instructions and work from handmade sketches.
- Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast pace work environment.
Pay: DOE
Hours: 7:00am-4:30pm Mon-Thurs, 7am-11am Fri
