Position Summary
The Receiving and Inventory Control Associate receives all shipments for the company. The associate then inspects the shipments and compares the packing list with the company PO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Record when a packing list differs from the original PO
- Receives incoming materials and enters these items into the ERP system of record to ensure correct accountability and control.
- Writes receivers and enters information into the ERP system as required.
- Counts, verifies, receives, and delivers all UPS, Federal Express, and other special carriers.
- Cross-trains in both Shipping and Receiving; provides coverage as needed
- Inspect shipments for accuracy and completeness, receive and unpack items
- Assist with and actively participate in internal and external inventory and packaged goods audits
- Inspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages and rejects damaged goods
- Organizes distribution and shipping of merchandise. Makes necessary verifications against documents, unpacks and routes goods to appropriate storage areas
- Takes inventory, maintains storage area, organizes and places stock on shelves. Ensures area is secure at all times.
- Assist accounting with invoices that are incorrect
- Take all packages to the right person or department
- Put all inventory on correct shelfs
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Organized
- Proficient typing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional and pleasant phone manner to service incoming and outgoing calls
- Ability to work in high pressure environments
- Willing to work the hours needed to get the job done
- Understanding of ERP/Syteline
- Experience receiving and inventory control
- Able to read and understand customer orders and job orders
- Forklift Certified Preferred
