What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Analyst position at Fabcon?
Purpose/Summary:
Compile and record employee time and payroll data. Compute employees time worked, compute and post wages and deductions, post and review time entries and check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers. Prepare various reports related to payroll and payroll taxes. Assist the Accounting department with various clerical tasks.
Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance, and employee identification number, from time sheets and other records.

Enters data into computer files, or computes wages and deductions

Reviews information computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy.

Updates master payroll records by recording changes that affect net wages such as pay rate, exemptions, deductions, loan payments, etc., for each employee.

Records data relating to job costing and/or transfer of employees between departments.

Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, deductions, labor, etc.

Prepares and issues paychecks.

Prepares certified payroll through the accurate completion of forms and understands what is allowable and prepares or assists with the calculations of each.

Balances gross wages against all payroll deductions.

Administers payroll tax procedures and payment policies.

Prepares or assists in preparing standard Federal, State and Local payroll tax return forms.

Review time sheets, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.

Process paperwork for new employees and enters employee information into the payroll system1-2 years’ experience in accounting and or payroll functions.

Computer skills – Data Entry; Dominion (Payroll); Sage/Timberline(Accounting); Word, Excel, Outlook

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data and documents related to payroll and accounting.

Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
Physical Requirements
Office: Move 25lbs. (not for all jobs, reasonable accommodations will be made), work with a computer for extended periods of time
