Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
Objective: The Installation & Service Technician will provide installation, commissioning, maintenance, and monitoring services for production and automation equipment in Material Handling industries. The individual's ability to learn the various tool sets, specifications, maintenance, preventative maintenance, requirements, training, and associated duties will determine how quickly this will occur. These activities must be performed in a safe and efficient manner. Some work will be performed inside cleanrooms, where special clothing (cleanroom suit, gloves, hood, etc.) and site-specific rules apply.
This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, in addition to the skill set and experience requirements listed below. The Installation Service Technician must be a strong self-starter and capable of working with minimal supervision from management.
Scope of Duties: The Installation Service Technicians responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Automation Material Handling Systems (AMHS) installation; supervision and training; AMHS installation, repair, correct, preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance, and/or adjustments necessary to keep the equipment at maximum performance and capability. All work performed will be conducted in a safe, organized, clean, and efficient manner. The ability to work at heights on a ladder (10' to 14') on overhead equipment is a mandatory requirement. The Installation & Service technician will also be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, the condition of the shop, laydown areas, work areas, toolboxes, parts, etc. used for installation/repair/maintenance at assigned site/s. The Installation & Service technician will be required to perform work with excellence, safely and efficient manner and be able to communicate the required tasks and duties to others in a clear, concise manner. It is the responsibility of the Installation & Service technician to maintain their expertise level and to request additional training, clarifications, or answers to elements of the job, technical information, or policies he/she does not understand. This includes good housekeeping, safe work practices, effective communication, and adherence to Customer’s and companies work policies and procedures.
Principal Responsibilities:
· Automation, robotic, and semi-conductor equipment maintenance and installation…. 90% of time.
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned…. 10% of time.
· Up to 80% domestic and international travel may be required

Education Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of technical install experience (engineering/construction)
· Vocational School or some college courses
· Associate’s or Advanced Degree in Engineering or technical field is preferred
Depending on the length and type of experience, equivalent experience in servicing electronic equipment may be allowed to be substituted for some of the educational requirements.
Preferred Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience
· Three to six years of relevant experience
· Experience installing AMHS and mechanical equipment with extreme tight tolerances
· Experience servicing electronic equipment
· Experience and knowledge in the areas of automation, robotics, and semi-conductor industries
· Cleanroom experience a plus
Working Conditions:
· Must be able to pass drug and background screening.
· Some work will be done in a cleanroom environment with the proper cleanroom clothing (the wearing of a “bunny” suit – body suit, face mask, latex gloves, and booties- may be required at times) and behavior. The individual has to follow the rules and procedures of the customer site he/she is working at.
· Working at heights and in confined/closed spaces on occasion
· Safety Certification
Physical surroundings:
· Production tools for AMHS, semi-conductor processing and production
Adverse working environment:
· PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) may be required according to site regulations; temperature and humidity are kept at a certain level inside a cleanroom to ensure product quality.
Physical Effort:
· Physical effort is necessary.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds.
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
· Ability to work on equipment and overhead equipment at heights on a ladder or scaffold.
Domestic/International Travel: up to 80%
Extensive Hours: Compressed work week, overtime (up to 20 hours/week overtime)
