Job Summary:
Fabrication Specialties Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Second Shift Supervisor to oversee and manage our production operations during the second shift. The Second Shift Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring efficient production, maintaining quality standards, and promoting a safe work environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct second shift production staff, including machine operators, fabricators, and material handlers.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of orders.
- Maintain quality control standards and inspect finished products for defects.
- Enforce safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Train and mentor new employees on production processes and equipment operation.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports.
- Communicate effectively with other departments, including first shift supervisors, maintenance, and management.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure proper storage of materials.
- Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees.
- Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or technical certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing or production environment (preferably in a fabrication or distribution setting).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Ability to work the second shift (typically afternoon/evening hours).
- Experience in the insulation industry is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
