Position Summary:
The Production Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of operations within the manufacturing team. This position involves organizing schedules, coordinating resources, and communicating across departments to ensure timely delivery of quality products while maintaining efficiency and adherence to company standards.
Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2 years of experience in production, scheduling, or logistics role.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
- Standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods as needed
Skills and Specifications:
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus
- Able to meet deadlines and excel in a high paced manufacturing environment
- Able to successfully interact with customers, suppliers, and co-workers
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, interpersonal, and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain manufacturing schedules to meet deadlines and customer requirements including scheduling techs and operators for equipment maintenance and change overs.
- Develop and maintain logistics schedule for local material pickups and customer product deliveries with shipping and purchasing departments.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to resolve conflicts or delays.
- Coordinate the availability of materials, tools, and equipment to avoid manufacturing delays.
- Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Act as a liaison between departments, including manufacturing, quality control, and shipping.
- Communicate changes, priorities, and updates to relevant teams
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and recommend solutions.
- Assist in implementing lean manufacturing and efficiency strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of manufacturing activities, including schedules, inventory, and progress reports.
- Prepare regular reports for management on manufacturing status, delays, and improvements.
- Assist manufacturing teams in resolving operational issues as they arise
- Other duties as assigned.
