Description
Assist the shipping supervisor with the day-to-day operations of the shipping department.
- Order Assembly: Assemble daily orders for shipment, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Product Picking: Select products from the warehouse based on daily order requirements.
- Loading Assistance: Help load packages into carrier service vehicles.
- Equipment Use: Operate equipment such as boxes, tape guns, strapping machines, computers, and calculators to complete orders efficiently.
- Work Area Maintenance: Implement cleaning procedures to maintain a tidy and organized work area for timely task completion.
- Reporting: Provide accurate and timely information to the Shipping Manager.
- Inventory Data Management: Report inventory data accurately.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all work meets exactness, neatness, and conforms to company policies and procedures.
- Operational Communication: Keep the Shipping Manager informed of key operational issues, including production aspects.
- Instruction Compliance: Follow written and oral instructions from the Shipping Manager, Operations Manager, and Corporate Officers.
- Team Communication: Communicate business and company issues to direct reports and promote team spirit.
- Policy Adherence: Ensure all company policies and procedures are fully implemented, adhered to, and communicated.
- Management Coverage: Assume responsibilities for the Shipping Manager in their absence.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Follow all SOPs.
- Cross-Departmental Assistance: Assist in other production departments as necessary.
- Additional Duties: Perform other job functions as required.
Qualifications
- 1-2 Years shipping experience (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and neatness in all tasks.
- Proficiency in using standard warehouse equipment (tape guns, strapping machines, etc.) and basic computer skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and promote a positive work environment.
- Willingness to assist in various departments and adapt to changing tasks.
- Ability to lift and move packages, as well as perform tasks that require physical activity.
- Basic computer skills
