Employment Status: Full-Time – 9-hour shifts (with 1 hour lunch) – Days – Monday thru Friday

Two Locations: Meridian and Boise

Reports to: Clinical Director

Job Description:

Reporting to the Clinical Director, as a Clinical Therapist you will provide short-term counseling for clients at the Center who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, stalking, or child abuse. Our counseling program provides immediate, short-term, trauma–informed counseling services to help individuals regain a sense of safety and return to their normal level of functioning. Our counselors help victims access long-term support services when necessary. Faces of Hope also offers classes such as empowerment and trauma informed yoga, to name a few, for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. All services offered are free of charge. This job is a salaried position and is NOT paid based on billable hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current unrestricted licensure in Idaho: Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Please do not apply if you do not have an active, unrestricted license to provide therapy in Idaho.
  • Experience completing psychosocial assessments, including assessing for specialized risk such as suicide risk, substance use, mental health concerns, and abuse.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and trauma counseling using a trauma-informed approach with a diverse population.
  • In-depth understanding of the dynamics of interpersonal violence and the ability to provide compassionate and appropriate support for child and adult victims of sexual violence/interpersonal violence.
  • Ability to communicate using strengths-based, professional language with clients, their families, members of the multi-disciplinary team, and the community.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check with fingerprints.

Desired Qualifications:

  • EMDR, TF-CBT or other Trauma Informed practice

Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Practice:

  • Complete psychosocial assessments, including assessing specialized risks such as suicide risk, substance use, mental health concerns, and abuse.
  • Provide short-term prioritized clinical interventions with special consideration given to complex and/or high-risk issues.
  • Provide crisis intervention services to clients, families, and staff members.
  • Provide community resource information and referrals to connect clients with long-term care, including maintaining updated and ongoing awareness of community support available to clients and families.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and as a liaison with community partners to support complex, high-risk, or difficult client situations.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor to social work/counseling student interns.
  • Facilitate support groups.

Professional Development:

  • Attending staff meetings, in-services continuing education, and competency labs.
  • Assist in the development of indicators, thresholds, study methods, and data collection as assigned.
  • Respond to problems/opportunities to improve care/customer service.
  • Maintain professional licensure.

Experience:

  • Trauma-informed treatment/therapy: 1 year (Preferred)
  • EMDR: 1 year (Preferred) or other trauma informed specialty
  • Crisis Intervention: 1 year (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,500.00 - $65,000.00 per year
