Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handy Man to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse set of skills to handle various maintenance and repair throughout the assisted living facility, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- General Maintenance
- Perform minor repairs throughout the facility, including plumbling (e.g., unclogging drains, replacing faucets), electrical (e.g., refrigerators, stoves).
- Maintain common areas and resident apartments, including cleaning, minor repairs, and ensuring proper functioning of appliances (e.g., refrigerators, stoves).
- Conduct preventative maintenance checks on equipment and fixtures.
- Safety and compliance.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by promplty addressing any maintenace issues that may pose a safety hazard.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including proper use of tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Customer Service
- Respond promptly and courteously to resident and staff request for maintenance assistance
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and supervisors regarding maintenance issues and progress
- Build positive relationships with residents and staff
- Other duties
- Assist with other maintenance tasks as assigned by the Maintenace Supervisor/Manager
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience working in a healthcare or senior living environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical and carpentry skills,
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in confined space.
