Job Overview
The Activities Assistant assists the Activities Director in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreation, social, and intellectual activiites for residents of the assisted living facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Activity Planning and Implementation:
- Assist in the development and implementation of daily, weekly, and monthly activity calendars.
- Lead and participate in a variety of activities , including: recreational activities, games, exercise classes, outings.
- Social Activities, parties, celebrations, social gatherings.
- Intellectual activities, religious services, melitation.
- Decorate activity areas and prepare materials for activites.
- Assist residents with participating in activities as needed.
- Resident Interaction.
- Interact with residents on a daily basis, building rapport and fostering positive relationship.
- Observe resident participation in activities and document and changes in behavior or mood.
- Assist residents with personal care needs during activities as necessary
- Administrartive Supoort:
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activites.
- Other Duties: Assist with other duties as assigned by the Activities Director.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience working with seniors in a healthcare or social service setting perferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Creative and enthusiastic personality
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in working with seniors, and the mentally disabled.
- Ability to adapt to the changing needs of residents.
- Experience in long-term care or assisted living settings is preferred
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to assist residents with transfers and ambulation as needed.

Pay: $12.40 - $12.58 per hour
