What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Automation Technician position at Facility Automation Systems?
Facility Automation Systems (FAS) is a regional leader in Building Automation, IoT solutions, Operational Technology (OT) networks, and Cloud-Based (SaaS) building automation platforms.
FAS is seeking Building Automation Technicians & Apprentices to join our growing team. The ideal control system technician must have a strong technical background and be proficient in various tools and systems related to commercial/industrial building automation technology and HVAC systems.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize electrical / mechanical hand tools, voltmeters and ohmmeters to troubleshoot control and electrical related systems.
- Apply mechanical knowledge to detect and resolve environmental control issues
- Work with building engineers, and mechanical contractors to resolve issues associated with commercial buildings.
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Collaborate with other team members to optimize work flow
- Maintain professional charter and appearance
- If assigned, Maintain company vehicle appearance in accordance with company standards.
Requirements:
- Ability to use and operate a variety of Windows based PCs
- Basic understanding of ethernet networks
- Detailed understanding of BACnet MSTP networks
- Interpret control programs and wiring schematics to understand and troubleshoot control system configurations
- Proficiency in using voltmeters and ohmmeters
- Mechanical/HVAC/Electrical knowledge for troubleshooting
- Ability to detect and troubleshoot issues within building automation systems
- Physical capability to lift up to 45 lbs., work from step ladders up to 10 feet in height, along with operating motorized scissor lifts
- Familiarity with reading commercial building mechanical drawings
- Maintain a drug-free work place

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,800.00 per year
