Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our environmental services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various flooring surfaces in commercial settings. This role requires a strong commitment to quality and safety standards, ensuring that all floor care tasks are performed efficiently and effectively.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of floors, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
- Execute specialized floor care tasks such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to enhance the appearance of various surfaces.
- Conduct carpet cleaning using appropriate techniques and equipment to ensure cleanliness and longevity.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; report any needs or issues to management.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a clean and safe environment for all building occupants.
- Respond promptly to any floor-related maintenance requests or concerns from staff or clients.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of environmental services practices and procedures related to floor care.
- Proficiency in operating floor care equipment such as buffers, extractors, and vacuums.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in all work performed.
