EVS Technician On-Call
Job Summary
FSI is looking to hire a EVS Technician to work On-Call. This position requires weekend and holiday availability. This person will perform special cleaning projects as well as daily cleaning duties in accordance with the standard procedures of the housekeeping department and with the hospital objectives. Assigned areas may include patient rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, administrative offices, laboratories, waiting areas, restrooms, etc.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, beds, gurneys, examination tables, restrooms, offices, and other common areas within the hospital.
- Perform terminal cleaning of patient rooms and special procedure rooms in accordance with standards.
- Collect and dispose of regular trash, medical waste, and recyclable materials.
- Collect and removes soiled linens into appropriate bin.
- Replenish supplies (soaps, sanitizers, etc) as needed.
- Dust and mop floors with disinfectant
- Dusts furniture, wash walls, clean and polish fixtures, air vents, handrails, blinds, windows and sills and other items as required.
- Safely handle various types of cleaning chemicals in compliance with established guidelines and PPE
- May be trained to perform floor care - ex: buffing, stripping, and re-finishing, scrubbing baseboards, earthquake joints, and thresholds.
- May be trained to deliver linen in accordance with medical facilities par level policies stamp and document new linen, document salvaged linen.
- Report any conditions requiring maintenance attention or repair.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions in English
- Certified Executive Housekeeper (CEH) certification through International Executive
- Housekeeping Association (Preferred)
- Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) with AHE (Preferred)
- Certified Healthcare Environmental Service Technician (CHEST) with AHE (Preferred)
- OSHA 10 or 30 (Preferred)
- Previous custodial experience in the healthcare or hospitality industry (Preferred)
- Must be able to obtain a favorable background check
