TITLE: Temporary Facilities Summer Position (15 positions available)
LOCATION: Urbana School District #116
SUPERVISOR: Assistant Director of Facility Services
SUPERVISES: This is not a supervisory position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Move furniture, boxes and other miscellaneous items in all the buildings.
- Perform light duty maintenance such as painting, moving, cleaning, grounds work, and completes minor maintenance of equipment and furniture.
- Complete other maintenance duties completed with small tools.
- Remove trash and rubbish (removal up to 75 lb. lifting weight over chest height to remove and discard).
- Perform grounds work including lawn maintenance tasks.
- Warehouse delivery and pick up work.
- General cleaning.
- Exterior work such as emptying waste receptacles, picking up trash, sweeping entrances, cleaning flowerbeds, weed eating, push mowing, and shoveling pea gravel.
- Organize materials & curriculum
- Able to work out direct supervision
- Other duties are assigned by the Director of Facilities Services or Building Administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
- Must be 15 years old
- Must be a High School or College Student and will be returning to school in the Fall.
EXPERIENCE
- Some experience in painting and light maintenance preferred
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Basic knowledge of most hand-held tools
- Ability for constant bending, standing, stooping, walking and lifting.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. and move up to 100 lbs.

Valid Driver’s License (must provide at time of hire)
- Some organizational skills preferred

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Summer position only
- 8 to 10 hour days; 4 to 5 day work week
- No benefits included
- $16/hour
START DATE: June 1, 2025
NOTE: This is not a position within the collective bargaining unit and is not an administrative position.
