Responsibilities
Solar System Design
Create comprehensive designs for commercial solar PV systems using tools like AutoCAD, Helioscope, or PVsyst.
Analyze site-specific data, including roof structures, shading analysis, and electrical layouts.
Ensure designs meet all relevant codes, standards, and client specifications.
Quoting and Estimation
Develop accurate and competitive project cost estimates, including materials, labor, and equipment.
Work closely with the sales team to create detailed proposals for clients.
Update and refine quoting templates and databases to reflect market trends and cost variations.
Collaboration and Communication
Coordinate with internal teams (sales, project management, engineering) to ensure alignment on project scope and requirements.
Collaborate with utility companies and permitting agencies to address specific design or interconnection challenges.
Provide technical support and guidance to sales teams during client meetings and presentations.
Documentation and Compliance
Prepare permit packages, technical drawings, and other necessary documentation for project approval.
Maintain organized records of designs, quotes, and revisions for future reference.
Stay updated on industry advancements, utility regulations, and incentive programs.
Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
Relevant certifications (e.g., NABCEP) are a plus.
Experience :
Minimum of 3-5 years in commercial solar system design and quoting.
Proficiency with solar design tools (AutoCAD, Helioscope, or equivalent) and cost estimation software.
Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, utility interconnection processes, and permitting requirements.
