Job Summary: The Vice President of Operations (VP of Operations) will oversee and enhance the operational strategies, financial performance, and team leadership within FSS. This senior leadership role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence, driving efficiency, elevating customer satisfaction, and has full P&L responsibility. The VP will lead teams specializing in HVAC service, installation, and building automation systems (BAS), ensuring the seamless integration of advanced technologies in commercial and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Operational Management

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and profitability.
  • Oversee all HVAC and building automation operations, including service, installation, and project execution.
  • Drive process improvements, cost control measures, and quality assurance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align operational goals with corporate objectives.

Financial & Business Performance

  • Manage budgets, financial forecasting, and P&L accountability for HVAC and BAS operations.
  • Identify revenue growth opportunities and operational cost-saving initiatives.
  • Analyze financial data and operational metrics to enhance business performance.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across multiple departments.
  • Establish training and development programs to enhance employee skill sets.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

 

Customer & Vendor Relations

  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients, vendors, and industry partners.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through quality service and efficient project execution.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.

Technology & Innovation

  • Drive the adoption of advanced HVAC and building automation technologies.
  • Implement IoT, AI-driven analytics, and energy management solutions to optimize system performance.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes impacting HVAC and automation systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10 years of progressive leadership experience in HVAC, building automation, or mechanical contracting.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L statements.
  • Proven track record in operations management, team leadership, and business development.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency solutions, smart building technologies, and automation platforms.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • LEED Certification
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • PE (Professional Engineer) License (a plus)
