DIRECTOR (or SUPERVISOR), SOCIAL CONTENT & STRATEGY - New York
Factory seeks a creative content expert and social media strategist to lead a team in our NY office. The candidate will have deep experience in ideating winning campaigns, strong creative experience and design skills, exceptional project management and client service skills and finely honed managerial instincts to mentor a growing team.
The position will manage clients across a broad spectrum of industries, from fashion to sustainability and beauty & wellness and will collaborate closely with the Director of Influencer Engagement. The candidate should have at least 8 years of experience in client service, either at a social, communications or branding/creative agency that includes creating effective, original social media strategy for brands, and developing and pitching creative concepts that drive engagement, build a loyal community and follow the brand book to a tee.
They should have a strong list of trusted creative resources that they have worked with to create myriad forms of engaging creative content. The candidate should be adept at selling-in strategies and concepts to clients with excellent visual decks, exceptional storytelling and verbal presentation skills and deep knowledge of social media trends and algorithmic intel. The candidate should have strong experience conceiving IRL activations, events, trips and experiences that drive social engagement.
While influencer programs are not the main focus of this role (and are led by another Director) it is key to have a strong understanding of the tactics and process that makes influencer marketing successful for brands.
This candidate is a big picture creative thinker, a strategic gun and deeply focused on the fine print and details. They love mentoring a young and enthusiastic team and collaborating across teams.
This position will be New York-based and report to Factory PR’s Managing Partner.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and mentor a team and report in to managing partner
- Develop and implement winning social media and content strategies for brands
- Create brand content using design programs including Canva, Photoshop and video editing tools
- Concept creative ideas and either create inhouse or outsource to relevant resources
- Conduct ongoing audits and research to keep their finger on the pulse of successful brand social media content
- Create and maintain robust and impactful content calendars for clients
- Excellent creative writing abilities that are adaptable to each brands storytelling
- Act as senior point of contact for clients and manage their needs with professionalism and precision
- Set, meet and exceed client KPIs with high quality, consistent work
- Oversee reporting and constantly look for ways to improve how data is analyzed to increase results
- Perform continuous research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences within the digital marketing space
- Bring superior process management skills and processes to the team to streamline content flow and presentation
- Suggest and implement new features, tools, and ideas to raise brand awareness and grow channel followings
- Hold 1:1 meetings with team members to understand career goals and growth, and provide feedback on performance
- Contribute to new business proposals to ensure digital capabilities are accurately and creatively represented
- Identify opportunities within our existing portfolio for additional digital services
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 8 years of digital marketing, content and social media experience and in client service.
- Collaborative, agency background a must
- Experience in fashion, beauty, sustainability tech and innovation brands
- Strong leadership skills and a proven manager and mentor
- High level of initiative and proven ability to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience developing and executing large-scaled content marketing strategies and overseeing content development, specifically for social media platforms
- Experience amplifying campaigns and content and building online marketing strategies
- Fluency of digital platforms, tools, and software
- Conceptual and forward-thinking – comfortable in fast-paced environment
- Possess a network of content creators and creative freelancers
- Exceptional knowledge with analytics and reporting
- Excellent time management and project management skills
- Motivated to grow and educate team members to become high performers
- Strong organizational, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills
