EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting
- Three years professional experience in accounting and auditing as a supervisor
- Two years of experience in a health care organization
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS(see Leadership Competencies for additional essential functions).
- Supervises and coordinates the finance staff to ensure timely delivery of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements to accounting clients
- Oversees preparation and accuracy of monthly financial statements and balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by staff members.
- Develops, implements and maintains accounting policies and procedures regarding journal entry processing, balance sheet reconciliations and fixed assets
- Ensures all tax filing deadlines are met to include Form 1099, Personal Property Returns and Unclaimed Property Filings.
- Oversees preparation of MSP quarterly and annual reporting process for accounting clients.
- Interacts with external auditors and coordinates audit field work.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
