What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Revenue Cycle Applications and Systems - Corporate ITM (Hybrid) position at Faculty Physicians Inc.?
This position serves as the application and technical manager of the revenue cycle management system at FPI (currently Athena IDX) and related business applications and systems. Functions as the primary vendor liaison coordinating all aspects of product support, development, and software upgrades. Responsible for setting the tactical direction for the Revenue Cycle Support Team to achieve optimal business value from software and contracted vendor services. Implements and facilitates the governance process relating to software change management, workflow optimization and product development requests needed to support business requirements and regulatory standards. Serves as a primary ITM resource assigned to manage the ASP/Hosting contract and relationship; accountable for ASP/Hosting service delivery and adherence to contract terms; and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in network services, information systems, computer science, accounting or a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Four to six years of full-time experience in systems analysis and computer programming work, at least two of which involved healthcare and/or financial management systems applications
- Computer programming principles, techniques and procedures for batch and online applications; principles and practices of systems and procedures analysis; overall knowledge of the following:
- Five years of progressive knowledge with revenue cycle management applications, specifically the Athena IDX platform
- Minimum of two years of experience managing an application support team is preferred
- Practice Management and/or Financial Management software and applications.
- Basic functions and capabilities of various computer hardware and peripheral equipment Scheduling, billing and/or generally accepted accounting and auditing principles and common business terminology
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Develops and manages plans, goals, policies, and budgets.
2. Works with management team to identify long-range healthcare business application needs and establishes priorities for modifications and upgrades in line with organizational goals.
3. Participates in the development of standards and procedures as well as enforcement of such standards and IT policies.
4. Establishes clear lines of communication with the various business units. Determines, documents and prioritizes their needs and establish agreed upon service levels.
5. Coordinates with IT teams to ensure that application development and support work follows best practices, internal standards, policies and are developed pragmatically. Supports contributors in execution and delivery of architecture tasks.
6. Provides technical leadership and expertise on business system architecture and application integration, analyzing business requirements and crafting appropriate, cost-effective, and logical solutions.
7. Develops and implements formal change management processes for IT business applications.
8. Sets standards for Systems management, Systems integration and systems development across the organization.
9. Manages application maintenance and support staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and conducting annual evaluations and goal setting.
10. Augments staff by providing hands-on support for problem resolution and project completions.
11. Ensures critical business application uptime and availability SLAs are met consistently.
12. IDX Remote Hosting Contractual Operation Liaison - Serves as a primary ITM resource assigned to manage the IDX ASP/Hosting contract and relationship; accountable for IDX ASP/Hosting service delivery and adherence to contract terms; serves as a key internal escalation resource for any critical issues.
13. Informs ITM staff and others of IDX ASP/Hosting contract terms, support processes and procedures, contact information and other information needed for our revenue cycle vendor and ITM to perform as a highly integrated team; schedules and performs a quarterly review meeting with our revenue cycle vendor to discuss critical issue review, change management and system performance and capacity planning.|
14. Documents all communications with our revenue cycle vendor relating to the ASP contract; reviews ASP invoices on a monthly basis.
15. Ensures IDX ASP/Hosting performs annually through DR testing; Security Assessment Review and PCI compliance attestations.
16. Ensures ITM policies and standards are updated accordingly (i.e. change management); reviews and approves all requests for services and support outside of contracted terms and commitment levels.
Total Rewards
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
