Position Summary:
This Local 1102 RWDSU UFCW Union Position, Bookkeeper for the Fiscal Agent of Stony Brook University Student Organizations, will be responsible for maintaining accounting records, including accounts payable and various general ledger accounts, for the day-to-day business operations of the ASA Fiscal Agent. The bookkeeper will also be responsible for interfacing with students to process their budget and expenditure requests.
POSITION DETAILS:
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: $22.00 - $25.00 hourly
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum two years of progressive experience in bookkeeping
- Excellent organizational skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Time management skills
- Multitasking skills
- Experience in a high-volume customer service-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- General knowledge of accounting programs
- Experience with general office skills, including answering the phone and file retention
- Good written and verbal communication skills – proficient in English
- Ability to interact with students in a professional manner
- Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
- Ability to meet acceptable background check standards.
- Knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge Software
- Knowledge of Campusvine Software
- Experience working in a higher education environment
- Receive and process budget expenditure requests (vouchers) and related payments.
- Review budget status with club officers.
- Professionally interact with students, staff, and vendors, addressing requests, issues, and problems.
- Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
- Record and maintain accounts payable and receivable utilizing accounting software.
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements to receipts
- Analyze, prepare, and post journal entries
- Perform account analysis
- Assist with year-end audits
- Prepare excel spreadsheets
- Manage the Accounting Office space when the Fiscal Agent is absent (not personnel)
- Other duties requested by the Association
