The Faculty-Student Association of Jefferson Community College is a not-for-profit organization established in 1969 to serve the needs of the campus community. The college campus, located in Watertown, NY, provides excellent facilities for its programs of study. Located on 90 acres near the intersection of Interstate 81 and Coffeen Street (Exit 46), there are ten instructional and administrative buildings. We are seeking a candidate who would like to join our organization, as cleaner, to take care of our facilities by carrying out cleaning and maintenance duties.
This is routine and repetitive physical work involving the efficient and economical performance of building cleaning and related tasks. Perform a variety of cleaning tasks are performed according to a well-established procedure. The work is performed under the supervision of an immediate supervisor. Candidate should possess the ability to work with others, including student employees, co-workers, and supervisors. Interact with students, faculty & staff in a welcoming and knowledgeable manner. The position showcase qualifications like stamina, physical fitness, attention to details, time management, and teamwork. The incumbent does related work as required.
The goal is to keep our campus in a clean and orderly condition. The full time position is additional to our current positions. This is a 12 month position at 40 hours per week for full-time. Hours vary due to the needs for the campus. Current hours are 6:00 pm to 3:00 am; to be scheduled Monday thru Sunday. Medical, dental, vision, retirement, vacation, and paid holiday benefits are available to qualified full-time incumbents.
We are most interested in talking to applicants that have knowledge of common cleaning, disinfecting methods, materials and equipment; skill in the use of cleaners and maintenance equipment (e.g. vacuum cleaner, carpet shampooer and floor buffer); ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to lift heavy objects and perform work requiring bending, climbing, reaching, and repetitive motion; ability to get along well with others; willingness to perform routine cleaning and other physical tasks; willingness to be exposed to dust, dirt, grease and grime; dependability; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Must have a high school diploma or GED.
