We are looking for someone who can work weekends as well as weekdays during our busy season in our houseplant and tropical greenhouse department as sales and customer service associates.

Job Title: Houseplant and Tropical Plant Care Staff
Reports To: Plant Care Supervisor
Position Type: Part Time, Seasonal, Temporary
Role and Responsibilities:
Job requires a willingness to perform duties in all work environments nature provides including heat, cold and rain. Have a sales and customer service driven focus. Recognize our commitment to the store experience and maintain plants, plant product and facility to support that experience. Superior understanding, commitment and focus on excellent customer service.
Tasks:
- Exceptional focus on sales and customer service.
- Actively engage with customers, offer advice and answer questions.
- Make eye contact and acknowledge all customers.
- Wear and communicate on a radio.
- Assist in maintaining plants, watering, deadheading, cleaning.
- Benches (both inside and outside) should be debris free.
- Glassware should be dusted and free of water spots.
- Terrariums should be dusted and free of water spots.
- Floors in greenhouse and hallway should be clean.
- Wet floor pilons should be used when watering.
- Puddles on greenhouse and hallway floors should be marked with pilons and mopped up as necessary.
- Air Plant display top and product below should be spotless and organized.
- Work areas should be kept swept and free of clutter for safety.
Skills Required:
- General houseplant knowledge including plant names and plant maintenance requirements.
- Sales and customer service experience
- Retail experience.
- Ability to routinely lift 30 lbs.
Education Preferred:
- 2-4 years experience in retail.
Preferred Skills
- Active Learner – Seek to be on trend in plant care.
- Team Focused – Ability to seek guidance from and relay information to plant care supervisor.
- Service Orientation - Actively looking for ways to help both customers and staff.
