We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated AV Tech Lead to oversee technical operations, ensuring high-quality audiovisual system integration, installation, and support. This role requires a strong background in AV technology, telecommunications, and low-voltage systems, with hands-on problem-solving abilities in field service environments. The ideal candidate will lead a team of technicians, manage AV projects, and ensure seamless operation of AV systems across corporate, commercial, and event spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage AV field service operations, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and meet industry standards.
- Oversee AV system design, installation, and maintenance, including video conferencing, digital signage, projection, and sound reinforcement.
- Utilize hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and software to install, maintain, and troubleshoot AV, telecommunications, and electrical systems.
- Perform cabling installations and manage low-voltage wiring to support AV and IT infrastructure.
- Configure and troubleshoot AV control systems such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Dante, etc.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues using diagnostic tools, including voltmeters, network testers, and system software tools.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior technicians, ensuring team development and efficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of AV service activities, including system configurations, repairs, and installations.
- Support live events and corporate meetings, ensuring optimal AV performance and troubleshooting issues in real-time.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry best practices, and company policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in Field service or telecommunications.
- Strong expertise in AV system design, installation, and troubleshooting, including video distribution, audio processing, and control systems.
- Proficiency with AV control platforms such as Crestron, Extron, AMX, Biamp, QSC, and Dante Audio Networking.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in low voltage wiring, cable management, and structured cabling techniques.
- Knowledge of IT networking principles and AV-over-IP solutions.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and hands-on troubleshooting expertise.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical system diagnostics, including the use of voltmeters and other testing tools.
- Industry certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, Crestron, Extron, Dante, etc.
- Background in corporate AV, hospitality, or large-scale event production.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Visio, or other AV system design software.
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and AV system software configurations.
