Fair Grove High School is seeking qualified applicants for the position of head varsity volleyball coach. Qualified applicants will possess a strong understanding of the game, a passion for working with student-athletes, and a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
This is a year-round coaching position that requires collaboration with other varsity-level coaches to ensure multi-sport athletes can successfully participate in multiple programs. The Head Coach will be responsible for planning and overseeing all aspects of the volleyball program, including practices, competitions, athlete development, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and implement a year-round volleyball program that includes off-season conditioning, open gyms, camps, and in-season practices and competitions.

Demonstrate a strong knowledge of the rules, strategies, and techniques of volleyball.

Collaborate with other head coaches and athletic staff to create a schedule that supports multi-sport athletes and promotes shared participation.

Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes, promoting leadership, responsibility, respect, and academic achievement.

Build strong relationships with players, families, faculty, and members of the school community.

Develop and maintain high standards of conduct for student-athletes both on and off the court.

Monitor the academic progress and overall well-being of student-athletes.

Organize and manage assistant coaches, delegating responsibilities as needed.

Ensure the program is in compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations and policies.

Promote and encourage community involvement and support for the volleyball program.
Qualifications:

Deep knowledge of the game and a proven ability to teach and develop athletes at all skill levels.

Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, administrators, and families.

Must meet all MSHSAA head coaching requirements.

Ability to pass all required background checks and clearances.
