POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: Pickup & Delivery Associate Status: Exempt/Full-time
Reports to: Store Manager Hours: 40 hours per week

POSITION SUMMARY: The Pickup & Delivery Associate is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the loading and unloading process for customers and themselves, by following safety and lifting protocols during deliveries and pick-ups, as well as providing excellent customer service and helping with the day-to-day operations of the Fair Haven Market Store.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete daily maintenance log by checking tires, oil, etc.
Get a copy of the schedule for daily pick-ups/deliveries from front cashier.
Complete scheduled pick-ups and deliveries.
Assist furniture workers with unloading picked up donations.
Upon completion of pick-ups/deliveries, take trash, boxes, scrap metal, and Green Zone clothing items to their designated areas.
Clean up around the outside of the store.
Ensure that any and all items loaded in barn, trailer, and other storage units be loaded in a neat and organized fashion to avoid damage.
Assist in conducting trailer, barn and other inventory inspections on Tuesday and Thursday of each week.
At the end of the day, park van in the front parking lot, lock doors and turn keys into the manager.
Assist marketing coordinator each day/week in loading auction items in first trailer.
Every Friday morning, assist marketing coordinator in unloading auction items that have been sold and organize for pickup.
Load furniture items that have been sold online on Friday afternoons from 12PM-5PM as customers arrive to pick up what they have purchased.
ATTENDANCE:
Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks, where applicable.
BUSINESS NECESSITY:
The needs of Fair Haven Market may be dependent on responding to and anticipating rapidly changing external and internal demands in all aspects of how business is conducted. This may include, but is not limited to, organization structure, finances, goals, personnel, work processes, technology, and customer demands. Therefore, it may become necessary to make modifications to how business is conducted and work is accomplished, with minimal or no advance notice to employees. Accordingly, the employee must be capable of adapting with minimal or no advance notice, to change in how business is conducted and work is accomplished, with no diminishment in work performance.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current vehicle insurance and a valid GA state driver’s license.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of volunteers, donors, members of the general public and employees of the organization.

TIME SHEETS: The federal wage and hour laws require accurate record keeping of work time and pay. Your time sheet records your work time, assuring you of proper payment for the current amount of time worked. Since this is your only proof, you must record your time accurately. Your Store Manager will explain the appropriate time recording procedure to you. You must record your time in prior to performing any work and must record your time out each time you leave work. If you make a mistake in recording your time, take your time record to your Program Director who will correct and initial any changes. Clocking in and out early or late must be pre-approved by your Store Manager. (this includes lunch breaks). Recording another employee’s time sheet or asking someone else to record your time is a violation of the organization’s rules. PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Your first 90 calendar days with Fair Haven is a probationary period. During this time, you and the organization will have an opportunity to evaluate whether the job is suitable for you. The organization’s evaluation will include attendance, work performance and suitability for this position, among other things. The Store Manager has the discretion to extend the probationary period for an additional period not to exceed 90 days when appropriate. We hope that you will make the most of this “trial” period by learning your new job and demonstrating your ability and interest. DRUG & ALCOHOL POLICY: Fair Haven is a drug free workplace. It is an absolute violation of this policy for any employee: To be involved in the illegal use, possession, manufacture, distribution, dispensation or sale of drugs or drug paraphernalia on or off organization’s premises or while an organization business or during work hours (working hours include breaks and meal periods); To be involved in the use or possession of alcohol on the organization’s property; To be involved in the use of alcohol off the organization’s premises in a manner that the organization determines may affect the employee’s work performance, his/her own or Others’ workplace safety, or otherwise adversely affect the organization; and To be “under the influence” due to the use of illegal drugs or alcohol on the organization’s property or during working hours; To protect our clients and our employees’ safety and health, we will take a number of steps to ensure that our policy is followed. These steps may include searches, at the organization’s discretion, of lockers, lunch boxes, desks, clothing and work areas. It is also the responsibility of each employee to report promptly to his/her supervisor his
her use of any prescribed or over-the-counter medicine, which is known, or publicized as
possibly impairing judgment, coordination or other senses important to the safe and
productive performance of work-related function Consistent with the law-abiding behavior we
expect of everyone, employees must notify management within five (5) days of any arrest or
conviction or, a criminal drug offense as required by the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988.
Compliance with this policy is a condition or employment. Violation of this policy will
subject the employee to discipline up to and including termination. Noncompliance
includes the refusal to cooperate with any or all procedures encompassed by this policy,
including submitting to a test or a search, and all requirements incident to a test or search
and the policy generally.
Fair Haven strongly encourages employees who develop a drug and/or alcohol problem to
seek help from a medical professional or a public health agency. An employee who gives
the organization voluntary notice of such a problem will be eligible for a 30-day leave of
absence for the purpose of seeking treatment. At the expiration of the 30 days, the
employee may return to his/her position or an equivalent position, if available. It is the
employee’s responsibility to seek assistance before he or she is discovered in violation of
the policy and the Company takes disciplinary action.

employees are treated with mutual consideration, respect and without unlawful
harassment of any kind.
