What are the responsibilities and job description for the RECEPTIONIST (PART-TIME) position at Fair Oaks Health Care Center?
Are you looking for a chance to be part of a great team environment? Fair Oaks is currently looking for a part-time receptionist to work two evenings (4pm-8pm) during the week and every other weekend (9am-6pm). Strong communication/customer service skills a must. Responsibilities include:
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner
- Answer all telephone calls coming into the facility. Direct them to proper department or take messages as appropriate
- Maintain copy machine. Inform Office Manager when supplies or repairs are needed
- Complete general typing duties as assigned
- Stamp outgoing mail as necessary
- Inform social services director or activity director when flowers are delivered. If unavailable, handle distribution personally.
- Work with employment applications, instructing them on proper procedure for filling out applications. Contact appropriate department supervisor for interviews
- Notify nurses station, medical records and social services when a new resident arrives at the facility
- Welcome all visitors, applicants, salesmen, etc. Remember that they get their first impression of the facility from you – be sure ti is a positive first impression.
- Keep an updated room location listing at all time in order to properly direct visitors to residents rooms
- Direct all residents family members, employees with specific questions or concerns to the appropriate department supervisor. NEVER give out information regarding residents or employees, either to visitors or callers
- Always be aware that the receptionist area is accessible to everyone and it must be maintained professionally at all times
- Use paging system professionally at all times in locating individuals or making necessary announcements. Remember that your voice is heard by everyone present in the facility.
- All other duties assigned by the office manager or administrator.

What you can expect from us upon receipt of your application:
- Human Resource Manager will contact you within 1-2 business days of your application submission
- Complete 1-2 interview(s) with Department Head and Human Resources
- Upon receiving the job offer, complete new-hire tasks and onboarding paperwork (via the Paycor app)
- Human Resource will set date/time to complete paperwork, provide tour of building while introducing you to our staff, provide name badge and time clock access
- Department head and/or Scheduler will meet with you to provide you with schedule
- Paid departmental (job specific) training - five day minimum
- Paid building orientation
- Receive continuous training as you provide exceptional care to our residents
