The Production and Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in supporting powder production operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of equipment and the physical infrastructure of Fair-Rite Products Corp. This position involves assisting in production processes, performing preventative and corrective equipment maintenance, addressing general facility upkeep and repair needs and is integral to maintaining an efficient and safe work environment.
Days and Hours:
Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Production Support
- Operate and monitor powder production equipment, ensuring adherence to quality and efficiency standards.
- Assist in the setup and adjustment of machinery to meet production requirements.
- Maintain accurate production logs, including materials used, processes followed, and issues encountered.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure timely completion of production goals.
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on all production machinery to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues with equipment.
- Maintain and manage an inventory of maintenance supplies and replacement parts.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and tracking purposes.
Facility Support
- Address general building repair needs, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Ensure the physical infrastructure is in optimal condition to support daily operations.
- Take care of external grounds keeping, snow removal, and minor infrastructure repairs as needed.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized building repairs or upgrades.
- Conduct routine facility inspections to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
Process Improvement and Safety Compliance
- Identify and recommend improvements to production and maintenance processes for increased efficiency and safety.
- Adhere to and enforce all company safety protocols, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
- Support the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production, equipment maintenance, and facility-related tasks.
Qualifications
Minimum Education / Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing or maintenance roles, including facility infrastructure repairs
- Vocational / Technical Education or Technical Training Certificate; a technical certification or associate degree in a mechanical, industrial, or electrical field
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with familiarity in industrial and building systems (plumbing, electrical, and HVAC)
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and facility systems
- Effective problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and external contractors.

- Uptime of production equipment and building systems.
- Timely resolution of production, equipment, and infrastructure-related issues.
- Adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
