As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to our residents.
Position: Direct Support Professional
Location: Fairbanks, Alaska
Hourly Rate: $17 - $20 per hour
Full Time (40 hours a week)
Qualifications:
- Adequate knowledge and experience in caregiving or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassion and patience for working with individuals with IDD.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years old.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Personal Care: Help residents with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and grooming.
2. Medication Assistance: Administer medications on time and keep accurate records.
3. Emotional Support: Provide companionship, encouragement, and positive interactions.
4. Activity Assistance: Help with recreation, meal prep, chores, and community outings.
5. Transportation Help: Safely transport residents to programs, activities, or appointments.
6. Facility Cleanliness: Keep living spaces and common areas clean, safe, and organized.
7. Resident Documentation: Record care and progress daily in ISPs and TLOGs.
8. Behavior Support: Use strategies to manage challenging behaviors and encourage positive actions.
9. Teamwork: Collaborate with others to provide comprehensive care.
10. Safety and Compliance: Follow safety rules and regulations to protect everyone.
