Position Summary:
Hunt Valve Company has been manufacturing shipboard valves for naval customers for decades. The company, now part of Fairbanks Morse Defense, is rapidly growing and in need of a technician to support the engineering department. This position would directly support the engineering team in day-to-day activities to ensure work product is organized and is retained with high quality. Hunt offers a unique working environment that allows a hands-on individual to develop and grow as the company expands its footprint and maintains high performance as a trusted defense contractor.
Responsibilities:
This specification is intended to indicate the kinds of tasks and levels of work difficulty that will be required of positions that will be given this title and shall not be construed as declaring what the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position shall be. Responsibilities:
- Organizing and tracking work product for engineering and related departments (e.g., drawings, vendor and customer submittals, etc.)
- Interfacing with peer departments within company to help manage engineering support for emergent issue resolution.
- Database entry for action tracking as well as customer submittals
- Supporting individual engineering support requests wit
- High school diploma or equivalent
- College experience is welcome
- 0-5 years of experience in an office environment
- Attention to detail; quality of work product is #1
- Maintaining a professional attitude through oral and written communication
- Ability to take lead on tasks and drive actions to closure without continuous monitoring by supervisor
- Strong work ethic, a “self-starter”
- Experience with database tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and/or other electronic management tools
- Familiarity with mechanical drafting, and/or drafting software such as Solidworks
