Job Title: Field Service Technician II

Location: Cincinnati, OH up to 80% travel

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician II with a strong background in equipment maintenance and repair. This role requires a highly skilled professional with at least 8 years of hands-on mechanical experience in field service, who can independently diagnose, repair, and maintain various types of equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for traveling to customer sites worldwide, to identifying and trouble shoot required parts and procedures for repairs, providing accurate Condition Found reports of work, and able to work independently or with a team of technicians as needed. This position involves significant travel and fieldwork, ensuring that equipment is maintained or repaired to the highest standards of operational efficiency. When not on a customer field job will work in the shop helping build assemblies and learning new installation and builds for service jobs. Able to acquire and maintain base clearance with access to ships and piers as well as a valid clean driver’s license to rent vehicles per job requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Field Service: Travel to customer sites to perform inspections, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, Condition Found reports, and repairs of equipment as parts are available.
  • Diagnosis and Repair: Accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in a variety of equipment, including but not limited to industrial machinery, commercial equipment, and specialized tools on board military vessels.
  • Parts Identification: Identify necessary parts and materials required for equipment repairs and maintenance, ensuring timely procurement and availability.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to explain technical issues, provide recommendations, and ensure satisfaction with services provided.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job, ensuring all service reports are completed and submitted on time. Daily reports to the customer and the internal field service team a necessity.
  • Able to work at elevated heights over structures and water from Scissor lifts or Man lifts.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines and industry regulations, ensuring all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner while wearing the proper PPE for the job.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices to improve service quality and efficiency and updated prints.
  • Perform all assembly and testing tasks
  • Perform all inspections required by the company's quality assurance (QA) program
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with QA procedures and the company's training program
  • Assemble parts based on Line Item Numbers that correlate with a Drawing BOM
  • Complete OQE
  • Sub-assembly and Large Assembly (torques, Loctite’s, or anti seize sub-assembly)
  • Prepare for Shipping
  • Disassemble returns to evaluate, fix and refurbish items
  • Work with QC to put reassemble and complete run-off testing
  • Transporting parts between buildings/departments with fork truck/pallet truck
  • Adhere to company Malpractice & Ethics Policies
  • Cross trains on various positions in the department
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ensures that all safety procedures are followed as stated on posted signs and in Company policy
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in field service, mechanical assembly, maintenance, and repair of industrial or commercial equipment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with proven experience in diagnosing and repairing complex equipment issues.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in equipment maintenance, mechanical or electrical repair are preferred.
  • Ex Military a plus to maintain base, pier, and ship clearance and access.
  • No felonies and able to pass extensive background check.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers.
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel frequently, sometimes on short notice, to customer locations.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs. and move heavy equipment and tools, work in various environments, and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, prints, and directions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals.
Note: This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship. Acceptable proof of US Citizenship is a US Passport, US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.
