As a Day Treatment Coordinator, Mentor you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Hope Project Day Treatment, providing mentorship and recovery support services to youth with SED ages 12-17. The coordinator will hold the values of love for children, family unit relationships, self-sufficiency, care & provisioning for family, practicing of Native Traditions, respecting wisdom from life experiences, respecting Elders, and others, promoting spirituality, and sharing & caring of community. The coordinator is part of the clinical therapeutic team providing comprehensive services to program participants.
The grant that you will be working on is the Hope for our Children Project. The goal is to improve mental health outcomes for children and youth at risk for or with serious emotional disturbance (SED) and to bring new hope through its comprehensive and early intervention approach for the children, youth, and their families
Job Duties:
- The Day Treatment Coordinator implements the day treatment schedule and works with the clinical team and Lead Family Coordinator to schedule clinical services, family supports, education and cultural activities for day treatment youth and their families.
- Facilitates Talking Circle in a traditional way in alignment with treatment schedule.
- Shares lived experiences with consumers and families.
- Shares experience with navigating mental health system.
- Supports consumers during their treatment experience providing positive feedback and hope.
- Mentors consumers during their intensive daily treatment services for five-six consumers, with up to a four (4) month length of stay; up to 6 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
The successful candidate will have Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or related field, one year of experience working with AN/AI population and experience providing culturally specific services, one year of lived experience with homelessness, substance abuse, and/or co-occurring disorder. A combination of experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may substitute for degree requirements.
