What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Lab Technician Assistant position at Fairbanks Urology?
Job Purpose:
The MLTA is critical to the overall performance and efficiency of patient care at Fairbanks Urology. This position interacts with all the various facets of the company: Providers, front office, medical assistants, phlebotomists and community medical facilities. This position supports all functions of laboratory compliance and regulations. The job purpose is to perform duties as listed below to ensure medical excellence and timely report of patient data.
Essential Functions:
· Assist with functions of chemistry and complete blood count specimen collection, processing, and reporting.
· Assist with routine maintenance of assigned instrumentation.
· Support lab supply and reagent inventory.
· Regular attendance and punctuality.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
· Ensures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
· Perform any other functions as required by management or laboratory leads.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education and Skills
· Associate’s degree in related science.
· Prior experience in an outpatient clinical or laboratory setting.
