Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service in an assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will support the dietary department by ensuring that residents receive nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Support cooks and kitchen staff in food production tasks as needed.
- Help with inventory management, including receiving, storing, and labeling food supplies.
- Communicate effectively with residents to understand their dietary preferences and restrictions.
- Participate in training sessions related to food safety, nutrition, and dietary practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the food industry or as a Dietary Aide is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with residents, staff, and visitors.
- Basic cooking skills or experience in a kitchen setting is a plus.
- Must be able to follow instructions accurately and maintain attention to detail in meal preparation.
