Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings, including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, and teaching hospitals. The ideal candidate will have experience in geriatrics, emergency medicine, and familiarity with both Level I and Level II Trauma Centers. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients while assisting with daily activities and medical needs.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
- Monitor patient health by observing changes in condition and reporting them to healthcare professionals.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Support nursing staff with basic medical tasks as directed.
- Document patient care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of hospital medicine, geriatrics, emergency medicine, and outpatient care is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the operations of a Level I or Level II Trauma Center is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care, including lifting and transferring patients when necessary.
- Certification in CPR or First Aid is preferred but not mandatory.
