This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative environment providing discharge planning and intensive case management services to seriously mentally ill and co-occurring adults. The Forensic Discharge Planner works with individuals that are involved with the criminal justice system (court services, attorneys, probation and parole) as well as the mental health system including individuals hospitalized on NGTI (Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity) status and for competency restoration. The primary function is assessing, referring, and linking incarcerated and forensically hospitalized individuals to community-based services and resources. Collaborates with state psychiatric hospital staff on treatment recommendations and participates in treatment team meetings. Position will involve travel to state psychiatric hospitals around Virginia.

The population of Fairfax County is very diverse where 38.7% of residents speak a language other than English at home (Spanish, Asian / Pacific Islander, Indo-European, and others) and CSB recognizes that staff competence speaking a variety of languages is necessary to meet client needs. We encourage candidate's bilingual in English and a foreign language to apply. A foreign language skills stipend of up to $1,300 / year (full-time) may be given for qualified bi-lingual employees.
In addition, to recognize and reinforce the importance of professional development and enhance future recruitment of licensed professionals, if approved, the licensure supervisors will receive a stipend of $1,500 paid out biweekly over a 12-month period whether for one or more Department of Health licensure candidates.
License / Certification Reimbursement - Reimbursement for job related licenses and / or certifications once per year.

Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduation from an accredited college with a master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or nursing; plus two years of clinical experience.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED :
Licensed Clinical Social Worker,
Licensed Professional Counselor,
Clinical Psychologist,
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist,
Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner or
Clinical Nurse Specialist.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Additional Work Schedule Requirements : 40 hours per week to include day and evening hours on regular schedule to be determined by program needs. May involve 8 hr days when traveling to and from State hospitals
This position is emergency / essential services personnel. (Required to report for duty during inclement weather and / or other emergencies.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Experience with and knowledge of community base resources and treatment services.
Experience providing discharge planning services and outreach services to high risk seriously mentally ill and co-occurring population.
Experience collaborating with multiple human services systems and agencies.
Inpatient work experience in psychiatric hospital.
Experience working with programs such as ACT or Intensive Case Management.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to drive and travel to numerous locations, including some travel throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

Panel Interview and may include a practical exercise.
